No delays on improving Newark Airport
TV News 12 New Jersey, NJ
NEWARK - As Newark Airport's plane and passenger traffic continues to
increase, the Port Authority has invested billions of dollars to make sure
the airport is as modern and as customer-friendly as it can be.
Two garages have created more than 6,000 new parking spaces, while dozens of
new restaurants and stores fill the expanded terminals.
Monorails now connect the parking lots to terminals, while an AirTrain
allows passengers to get to the airport from NJ Transit bus and rail stops.
In addition, runways and taxiways have been lengthened to help cut down on
delays.
The Port Authority says it plans to open a new control tower next spring and
will consider adding another parking deck.
