Airport expansion to proceed - Brennan
The Irish Times
The Irish Minister for Transport, Mr Brennan, has given a guarantee that
a multi-million euro expansion at Cork Airport will go ahead
irrespective of whether it remains in the control of management company
Aer Rianta.
On a visit to the airport yesterday, Mr Brennan said it needed a new
terminal expansion to sustain the growth patterns of recent years. 'I am
determined that whatever decision I take will make the airport even more
successful than it is. I know the airport's importance to the region.'
Passenger numbers have grown from fewer than one million in 1995 to
almost 1.8 million in 2001.
