GAP advancing Guadalajara airport upgrade
Business News Americas

Mexican airport concessionaire GAP (Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico) is
carrying out a 240mn peso (US$23.2mn) upgrade of the passenger terminal
at Miguel Hidalgo international airport serving Guadalajara in western
Mexico's Jalisco state, El Informador reported.

The remodeling will prioritize passenger comfort and security, GAP
director Carlos del Rio was quoted as saying. The airport runway will
also be upgraded with a new lighting and signaling system.

The project is part of a US$73mn investment package for the 12 airports
under GAP's management announced in May this year. Other works include
Puerto Vallarta international airport also in Jalisco, and the
Guanajuato international airport, in Guanajuato state.
