MODERNISATION OF EGYPTIAN AIRPORTS

Minister of Civil Aviation Ahmed Shafik said that the ongoing
renovations at Cairo Airport Terminal (1) will finish in October,
pointing that the ministry is now studying the renovation and
modernisation of all Egyptian airports.

Work on Terminal (3) will start after providing the financial resources,
and introducing some minor modifications to the designs prepared by an
investment company. He added that some experts in aviation and airports
were sent to recently-established European, Arab, and African airports
to get acquainted with the ultra-modern methods in the passenger
terminals to meet the expected movement during the coming years.

The minister further said that EgyptAir hospital will be transferred
into the 7th company affiliated to EgyptAir holding company.

On the other hand, Lt Gen. Abdel Fattah Kato, the new chairman of
EgyptAir discussed with sectors directors the course of action during
the coming period after changing EgyptAir into a holding company. The
meeting was held in the presence of Eng. Mohammed Fahim Rayan the former
chairman of the company.
