Egyptian Deportee Arrested in Miami
MIAMI (AP) -- An Egyptian deportee carrying box cutters was arrested at
Miami International airport after arriving on an Iberia Airlines flight from
Spain, U.S. immigration authorities said.
Aly Sabra Galal Abdell, 29, was taken into Immigration and Naturalization
Service custody Friday when inspectors discovered he had been deported from
New York in January after entering the United States in the summer, said INS
spokeswoman Patricia Manchaa.
A search of the man's carry-on briefcase turned up the box cutters.
The case was presented to the U.S. attorney's office for prosecution but no
charges had been filed Monday, said Aloyma Sanchez, spokeswoman for the
office in Miami.
The Iberia Airlines flight landed without incident Friday, an airline
spokeswoman said.
