Man with Box Cutters Walks Through Security
NewsMax
Congress dithers on whether airline pilots should be allowed to carry
guns.
And Reagan National Airport remains closed because officials know that
jets can't be fully secured and there won't be enough time for military
jets to shoot down a hijacked plane before it becomes a potential
missile into the White House.
Still, the FAA insists the airlines are "safe."
Tell that to Dennis Knaus, a Pennsylvania resident who last week
breached security at Philadelphia International Airport carrying a box
cutter.
He wrote to the FAA and told them security was lax.
This past Monday he did it again. This time Knaus walked right past
security at Terminal E carrying four box cutters and two sharpened paint
scrapers.
Knaus said he did it to convince his wife not to fly on a planned trip
to Europe.
His wife has canceled her plans.
But the FAA and airport security are not so happy. They had Knaus
arrested, and he could face up to a year in prison for carrying
prohibited items past the security checkpoint.
