KOREA'S NEW AIRPORT ENJOYS SMOOTH OPERATIONS FOR 2ND DAY
AsiaPulse
INCHON, -- The new Inchon International Airport enjoyed smooth operations
for the second consecutive day Friday, following its good start the day
before, to clear away the misgivings about its operations that have been
raised in the past.
The day's operations started with the safe and punctual landing of Korean
Air's KE-628 at 4:33 a.m. from Jakarta and the equally safe and punctual
take-off of KE-621 for Manila at 8:30 a.m.
Until midnight, the airport will handle 139 landings and 152 take-offs on
its two runways.
The vehicular traffic between Seoul and the airport was also smooth, taking
one hour to one and a half hours.
The only trouble was the failure of the flight information display signboard
for one and a half hours on the third floor of the passenger terminal
building as a result of the maintenance people's mishandling.
