Fire disrupts flights to Nairobi airport
Agence France Presse

NAIROBI, Dec 7 (AFP) - Flights at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International
Airport were temporarily disrupted on Tuesday evening after a fire broke out
in a building there, the Kenya Television Network (KTN) reported.

KTN said in its evening broadcast that smoke was spotted at the airport's
Unit Two on Tuesday evening, and power to the affected unit was immediately
disconnected as firefighters moved in to deal with the inferno.

A source at the airport's information office said the fire, the cause of
which has still not been established, was directly below the waving base.

The source said that flights had resumed normal operations, but declined to
give further details.

The airport is the largest in the country, handling about three million
passengers a year.
